Frequently Asked Questions

Because our bodies are all so unique, we recommend performing a patch test, especially if you have sensitive skin. A small amount of product should be applied to the inside of your wrist or behind your ear. Allow the product to sit on your skin for at least 24 hours. If you are prone to allergic reactions, you may experience itching or see redness. If this is the case, discontinue use of the product.

Many of our products are free of essential oils. This is ideal for those who have sensitive skin or prefer unscented products. Select products are infused with essential oils, but they are always included for the specific purpose of the product, with both skin benefiting and aromatic properties in mind (we don't believe the two are mutually exclusive). We only use a very small amount of essential oils in our products in these cases, respecting the dermal limits of each oil and its constituents.

Essential oils are used at a very low dilution of around .5% in our products, and we comply with IFRA regulations. We are also mindful of bringing you delicate (not overpowering) plant-powered aromatherapy, blended synergistically to bring you a truly therapeutic experience - an important part of your self-care routine.

We only use essential oils of the highest quality, obtained through steam distillation and CO2 extraction from reputable distilleries.

We recommend that customers keep these items dry, cool, and even refrigerated—especially in hotter climates. In the summer, products are shipped with an ice pack to prevent them from being exposed to high temperatures.

We recommend using your products before the expiration date, as well as keeping your products sterile by properly sealing them and using the pump or mister top intact. To avoid contamination, keep your hands, moisture and other items away from the contents.

Products have a "best by" date noted on the packaging or label which indicates the peak freshness and shelf life of the product. There is also a “opened jar” symbol on packaging along with the batch number indicating how many months the product will remain fresh after the day of opening. We recommend you use your products while they’re at their freshest state by purchasing only as much skin care at a time as you plan to use within three months.

To keep these precious ingredients fresh, we use violet glassware that is more resistant to ultra violet light. These luxurious vessels aid in the protection from degradation, ensuring the product retains its vibrancy for as long as possible.

We do not test any of our products or individual ingredients on animals and will not be party to any animal testing of our products or our ingredient suppliers.

You may have noticed our fondness for the magnificent white sage plant! While we admire this plant in all of its splendor, we do not use it as a raw ingredient in anything we sell. There is an abundance of wild grown sage on Loveland’s sprawling 40 acres, and we are cultivating a small patch in our gardens specifically for gifting to friends and family. We don't feel good about profiting from this native plant, but from time to time, we may include a single dried sage leaf or seeds in your order as a gift on a small scale. Instead of smudging with a sage wand, we recommend burning just a single sage leaf and allowing the purifying aroma to uplift your senses. Always make sure the sage is ethically cultivated from a reputable supplier.

Yes, our products are made in San Diego County, California from responsibly sourced global ingredients. This includes formulation, bottling, labeling and shipping! When possible, we choose botanicals that are sourced regionally and grown in the United States or North America. Our product boxes are made locally in San Diego from recycled materials. We purchase a large quantity of glassware in southern California in order to avoid shipping costs that we pass along to you as the customer.
